ipda England
ipda Scotland was launched in 2006, followed swiftly by ipda Ireland in 2007. ipda Cymru is a well established regional group and has been running since 1995. The addition of ipda Scotland and Ireland to our regional network raised some pertinent questions about the role and identity of the international ipda committee. It was agreed that there was an urgent need to establish an ipda England regional group in order that the international committee didn't function as an English imperial power, and so that the international committee could be developed on a much firmer international basis with representation from all the regions and the opportunity to involve a wider range of international members.
ipda England was launched on June 24th with an inaugural seminar 'Who are we and what do we do? Professional development of teacher educators'. The Presentation of the workshop and the reference list for research about teacher educators can be obtained here.
